Sb 800 Master Sb 600 Slave .I have nikon d5000, I recently got a sb800 for cheap, everything I am reading is telling me, if the sb800 is mounted on the hotshoe of the camera, it will act as a master (in master mode) and fire the sb600 as a remote.. The superslave fired the SB-800 from about 110 feet away. I`ve been using the pop-up as the master so far only because I haven`t bothered to& . The reduced guide number was to be expected after the same happened with the SB-900 introduction (with GN 34 versus GN 38 in the its predecessor SB-800)... I have been playing around with it, Had the Sb800 in master, Channel 1, and the sb600 in slave,& .
